Payroll Deduction Fundraising Drives

For Our Volunteers: How to Ask For The Gift?

It is the volunteer's contribution of time and enthusiasm that lends to the success of the Navajo United Way, Inc. campaign. Their efforts lead the way by informing fellow employees of the many community needs and of the importance of their gifts. The volunteer provides them an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people on the Navajo Reservation.

Generous giving from employees in the work place and individuals making personal donations enables the Navajo United Way, Inc. to continue to fund local health and human service agencies. These agencies help to strengthen families, promote health and wellness, provide safe neighborhoods, assist children, youth and elderly, and empower people to become more self-sufficient.

Sample Objections

The Navajo United Way, Inc. is just another charity.

Navajo United Way, Inc. is more than "another charity". It raises funds from many agencies providing a broad spectrum of services throughout the community. Navajo United Way, Inc. has raised money since 1981 to provide services that almost every person needs or may need.

Objection:
I never have used a Navajo United Way, Inc. agency.

Response:
In some way you have. Perhaps a friend or family member has needed the services of an agency, and no one ever knows when there may be a personal need, so it is nice to know it will be there if ever needed. View a list of locally funded agencies.

Objection:
I want to give directly to the agency of my choice.

Response:
You certainly have that option. However, by giving to Navajo United Way, Inc. through payroll deduction you may be able to give more than you could through a one-time gift. Your gift through Navajo United Way, Inc. is used by many agencies for programs and services. These funds are used to directly benefit the recipient.

Objection:
The agency I want to support is not listed (locally funded agencies).

Response:
You can support your favorite nonprofit, 501(c)(3) health and human service organization or another United Way through a designation on the pledge form. You can do this as well as give to Corporate Commitments to support the administration or projects of Navajo United Way, Inc.
